Prudential Makes Some Positive Moves On Term Life Insurance

Prudential Insurance recently improved their underwriting by liberalizing their rules concerning family history. This change makes Prudential one of the best companies to choose when purchasing term insurance, if the insured has a family history of heart disease.
With most companies, if the insured has a parent with a history of heart disease, this will cause the insured to be placed into a Category 3 rate class. By moving to a Category 3, it costs the insured a significant amount of money through no fault of their own.
Prudential’s new guidelines will allow insured persons who have only one parent with a history of heart disease to move up to a Category 2 (Preferred non-smoking) rate class. This change can save up to 20% in premiums and allow the insured to save a significant amount of money over a 10 or 20-year period.
The new underwriting criteria can save the prospective insured a great deal of money.
